Sandown has a magnificent sandy beach which slopes gently into the sea and is ideal for all the family to paddling and swimming. There are various watersports available from pedaloes to speedboat rides and further along the beach is a watersport centre. Directly opposite is Sandown Pier with it's amusement arcade, tenpin bowling, Jurassic golf and children's rides.

A broad seafront promenade is within easy reach for a 2 mile coastal walk between Sandown and Shanklin or a clifftop walk above goes to Shanklin as well.

Sandown town centre is packed with small interesting shops, pubs and restaurants/cafes and a supermarket for your needs. During the summer a road train operates between the town centre, Esplanade, Culver Parade, Sandown Zoo and Yaverland, where there is a footpath to Culver Downs with it's panoramic views of the Bay.
